Hair extensions or no?

Currently my hair is medium-long but it's a bit botched up. A few years ago, I had highlites (that person used bleach) and a lot of my hair fell off. Now the hair that wasn't bleached is long while the one that was highlighted and fell grew back but it's now chin length. Call that really bad hair day.

I have considered Great Lengths hair extensions so I can even out my hair (and also to add a few more inches to my hair) but I read that some stuff here and there about the negatives of HE's. My hair, even with the uneveness, is very thick and straight-wavy (after all, I am a Latina).

The salon I go to does Great Lengths and gave me the estimate (6 bundles of 18 inches) and money isn't an issue to me but still... I'm torn. I don't want my hair to fall off but I don't want to keep this uneveness and heck no I don't wanna cut my hair to chin length (hate short hair with a passion).

Good idea or no? Please mature answers only.

Hair extensions or no?

I think extensions have gotten a lot better in recent years. Many women getting into their 40s when hair starts to thin in NYC (where money isn't ever really an issue either) are starting to fill in thinning hair with pretty good success. New York Magazine did an article on them in the last few months with salons, prices, etc (100s of dollars per visit) but very natural and beautiful if maintained from what I remember. Not too many horror stories if any at all.

Check out the archives on NYMag.com to see if you can find a list of recommended salons if you can get to NY (or maybe they can recommend somebody in Miami, LA or wherever you can get too). Also, the advice to not skimp on your haircuts is very good too.

Best of luck to you.

No!

Hair extensions or no?

I would suggest not to do hair extensions because it is extremely high maintenece. I say that because if you don't go often to change the extensions, the hair attached to the keratin will start to break and you don't want that. No matter what people and adds tell you it will damage your hair and that hair is not renewable. If you really want long hair do a hair weave instead. it will still cause a bit of hair loss but nothing compared to extensions. The plus side to it is that a hair weave is renewable. so it is not as high maintnence because you can take it off any time you want and apply it back on without paying the starting price. you will only pay the application (not the hair again)

Now what oy night want to do is go to a really good salon where they have great hairstylists that know how to cut hair properly.

you night want to cut it to make it healthier and more uniform.

I am telling you this from my very own experience. Please go to a really well known salon where a celebrity might go for only a hair cut. IT IS WORTH THE PRICE.

i went to a hair salon and they gave me a really bad cut and i cried for the whole summer because my hair was extremely ugly. i had to style it every day. Please a good hair salon remember that.

get your hair cut into layers so the shorter hair blends in.
