Hair Extensions. Cost, upkeep. pros and cons?

i want to get hair extensions (professionally done), and i have a few questions

1. How much do they usually cost?

2.Can they be applied to short hair, and not look rediculous ?(short hair being 3 - 5 inches long)

3. Are they hard to keep healthy, and how often do they need to be redone?

4. Any pros and cons?

well on ebay me and my mom found clip in exstentions!! they work great..u cannot even tell....alot of real extentions ruin ur hair...and are real expensive...these are only 60 dollars....these are better becauseu can take them out at n e time...also with real ones in the shower a lot of ur hair will fall out
