Do hair extensions damage your hair?

My hair is fairly short *about to my shoulderes*. And Its damaged and kinda poofy. I want to get extensions so my natural hair will grow back healthy while I have long-looking hair. If I get extensions. Will they allow my natural hair to grow back healthy. And Will they damage my hair in anyway. (by either when i get them taken out. Or causign my natural hair to fall out) Also. Will the extensions make my damaged hair look healthier?

Yes, the glue damages your hair. You also loose tons of hair when you have them taken out. Your real hair will not have a chance to get healthier because you can't use conditioner.
