Hair extensions or dye to get the hair I want?

I want like, emo/scene hair. I know that sounds stupid, so don't put stupid comments like emos suck.

My hair is just below my shoulders, and highlighted pretty blonde. I want the underpart to be black, but my mom doesnt want me to dye it black because black is hard to get out of your hair.

Should i just get black extensions and put them at the base of my neck so i can get longer hair and black underpart? Would that look right?

sure, why not? i did it. no pics though. i changed back to my regular hair color cause my bf thought i looked like a vampire. but whatev.
